I refuse to live in fear. If you are breathing this morning, you no doubt have already been barraged by all kinds of threatening news about the “swine flu” or “H1N1 virus” whichever you would like to call it.
Now let me start by saying, this virus is serious and we should all respect it. We should use common sense and take precautions such as washing our hands more frequently, etc.
But I refuse to lock myself in my home and not come out until this virus passes. Paul said this in Romans 8 –
14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
If we believe in Jesus Christ and have trusted him with our lives, then we are children of God! We are no longer to be chained to and controlled by FEAR! God is still in control – swine flu or not.
Take precautions yes – but do not submit to fear. Trust God to be God. (Because that is who God is whether we trust God or not.)

Thanks Brian. I already knew this…. but…. with 5 kids and all of them with comprimised immune systems, I am a bit apprehensive b/c I don’t want them ill. It takes weeks to get over their illnesses and it sounds like with this stuff we might have a bigger fight on our hands . Thank again for your thoughts.
Brian- Can you remind the prayer warriors to be pray for their soldiers. Ms. Ward found a key chain in the parking lot, but no one has called to retrieve it. I am going to ask Terri to put the reminder in the builder aswell. Thanks!
